If Romeo is HC, who are the DC candidates?
Spinoff:

Emmit Thomas is the only internal candidate I can see happening. Him aside, who is available around the league to take over DC.

Around the league:

Keith Butler - Steelers LB coach
Kevin Greene - Packers LB coach
Jim Tomsula - 49ers D-Line coach

Who else is out there?

I would probably promote Gary Gibbs. Since RAC would still be here, it is his defense anyways. Gibbs has a long history of being a DC at the college and NFL level. He would be a wise selection if we stay in house... he would be a puppet of some sorts anyways. He was the Saints DC from 2006-2008.

Im a fan of Nolan.

He runs an aggressive 3-4 scheme (that also has links to the tree) and is a good football mind.

When Josh McDaniels fired him midseason a couple years back, it was because he was too aggressive...that right there tells me that hes a guy I would like to have on board.

he is also a realistic choice.
