Lewis Black may be the best topical comedian nowadays. In his latest HBO show he did a great bit about the tax cuts that I'll try to paraphrase as best I can:

Instead of cutting taxes to stimulate the economy, we need to do a huge public works project. First you need to pick an economically depressed area, say anywhere in Mississippi. Once you've picked the spot, you use the money to build a big f**king thing. It doesn't matter what it is, it just has to be big and it has to be a f**king thing. Once it's built, people will come from miles around to see the big f**king thing so tourism revenue will increase and next thing you know you've got the Big F**king Thing Restaurant and the Big F**king Thing Hotel & Casino.

I am a big big Mitch Hedberg fan and have been for a while...he came to SMS and I saw him and the live show was kind of dissapointing. Maybe it was just an off night or something. The guy he was with Zach Galifinakis was beyond funny...it was riot.

I was listening to Lewis Black on XM Comedy on the way home tonight and he mentioned Rolla, MO. He was doing a bit on airport security, and he flew in to Omaha, NE which "was like Paris, compared to Rolla,MO."

I heard that when Hedberg was in Phoenix. He had the audience throw random pills on stage and he took them. Then he passed out.
