If your willing to give up a 2nd...

A lot of you are ready to give up a 2nd for Surtain who may be out in a couple of years with a degenerative knee problem. Would you be as willing to use that pick to trade up with, say the Titans? There is always a risk, but at the #6 we have a real shot at either Rolle, or Johnson. Rolle is one of those rare CB's who can start right away in the NFL.I'm sure he'll struggle a little at first , but then you have years of excellent CB play in all probability.Johnson is being called the best LB prospect since Ray Lewis. The Titans are in serious cap trouble and dont want to spent the 12 million projected signing bonus of the #6. A move down would give them an extra pick to fill some of the holes they now have , and not cost them as much. We probably wouldnt sign our pick untill . . after the June 1st cuts. Would you if the trade were available to us?

Ignore this if it wouldn't be feasible, but what about a trade for our 1st and 2nd for their 1st and 3rd?

Actually I had the same thought . They want picks , so I bet one of our 5ths would have to be included, but I would do that trade in a second...

According to the trade value chart, this is a non-deal.

Pick #6: 1700 points

Pick's 15 & 47: 1490 points.
Pick's 15 & 47 & 79: 1690 points.

We don't have a pick in the 3rd round (#79).

It looks like at the 15th pick, it would take our entire draft to equal the 6th overall pick.

I dont think that under normal circumstances that anyone would make the trade, I'm just talking about their NEED to drade out of an expensive pick and pick up more draft choices to fill their many holes.

We'll get a third for Tait.

No, I wouldn't do the trade.

There are just too many holes to fill to come away from day 1 with only 1 player.

Trading the 2nd for Surtain, is essentially using that pick for Surtain.

If any other trades are made other than for Surtain, I want to acquire more picks, not come away with fewer.

Right now, as far as our situation is, I would trade the 2nd for Surtain, trade DOWN to recoup a 1st day pick, and draft the best DEFENSIVE player available regardless of position all on day 1 of the draft..

Then fill in what spots we have on offense the 2nd day....

THEN FIRE ALL THE POSITION COACHES ON DEFENSE

instead of the position coaches can't we just fire Carl and tell him that new 4 year extension was just a way of teasing him?
