My friend had the same problem and the problem was that his DVD player was too old or low end to handle compressed (burt) DVDs.
I'd try them on a player you know works with burnt DVDs, if they work, that's your answer. |

the media makes a huge diff. Crappy DVDs like memorex will not play in my player - -
See what happens if you use a Maxell. |

Do you have the latest firmware for the drive?
The latest version I can find is direct from Sony Firmware Update VY08e |

You may want to try a different brand of media if the firmware and dvddecrypter remedies dont work. His burner may not agree with what he is using.
