2012 Olympics Awarded to London

Well at least Paris did not get them. I was sort of hoping NY would win the Bid.

'ol Jacque Chirac got pissed and blasted British food as a result.

"We can't trust people who have such bad food," Chirac was quoted as saying. He reportedly added that only Finland had worse food in Europe, and that mad cow disease was Britain's sole contribution to European agriculture.

I've gained a monacle of respect for Chirac after those comments.

This is rather shocking, a lot of the talk around london and general feeling was that many Londoners were kind of being 1/2 assed about supporting it, and that it was seen in europe as Paris' pretty much to lose.

I too am very happy the dingleberry french won't get it, and would urge anyone to visit for them since London is the greatest city and it will be during the best time of the year weatherwise!
