Why are you leaving spaces inbetween the sod pieces? As far as I can remember about Zoisia(sp?)
is that it grows together

My old man did it when I was a kid. He had a patch of grass that took really well. I don't know what happened to the rest of it. Best of luck. I really hope it works for you.

This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff. [/Spackler] |

Because I didn't want to sod the entire yard (more expensive) I wanted to space it enough to where it'll grow together itself. |

Cool, was just wondering why. It should look good in the summertime next year. You just have to get used to not having green grass for a good portion of the year. Remember to water alot the next few weeks.

My dad did it when I was young. He didn't do it like you are doing though, he just planted a patch in the center of the backyard and waited for it to spread from there. Your way is more work, but it sounds like a good plan to get it to cover the lawn faster.
It took several years for his patch to spread throughout the yard, but after it did it made for a pretty nice, weed free area. It's not as soft as some grasses, but if you don't mind that, it seems like a good way to go. |

I really don't think I'll have a problem with it. These were big sheets of sod I had to cut them down to do what I'm trying to do. If not, I probably won't be calling them to replace it when a sheet only costs $3. Now the water bill for the summer is going to go through the roof. Can we do a collective rain dance? BTW: There's plugs & sprigs. WTF is a sprig? |
