USC has better wideouts than the cheifs?

Chris Musberger just announced this opinion during the Nebraska/USC game.

Just imagine if someone had mentioned this in the college game thread and generated a discusssion there, you wouldn't have needed to start a whole new thread.

I heard that and what is scary is that other than Kennison it is absolutely true.

I'd trade Kennison/Parker for Jarrett/Smith without blinking...

There have been plenty of college tandems that went on to both become very good pros. It is not crazy to suggest that one of the most talent-laden teams in college football might have such a tandem.

I love this argument. You act like there is a talent meter that you can insert in someone's backside and get a definitive talent reading. It's a word you continually throw around without defining. If someone you like hasn't performed well on the field, then you rant and rave about their "talent". All of the talented first-round busts at WR must say that talent doesn't tell the whole story. Jerry Rice and Steve Largent are two guys that played way over their raw talent levels. I'll take guys like that any time over these flashy talent guys. Eddie Kennsion was a first round draft choice -- what does that say about his talent level? I know that back-to-back 1000 yd seasons says a good deal about his ability.

I never said Kennison was an untalented bum.....he's an aging WR who wants to be paid that to me says it's about time for him to go. The rest of the WR's I just don't think they're very talented players, Parkers fast that's about it.

I would say Parker has the talent to be a top WR in the NFL, he just can't keep his head in the game enough to achieve his potential.

Outside of him being fast....explain to me what he has. He has bad hands, he gets dumb penalties......Samie Parker has stats like Josh Reed do you think he's going to be a top WR? Parker will likely never be any better than someone like an Az Hakim.

He makes tough grabs and blows easy ones. He fumbles too much. He gets stupid penalties. But he also gets open. And it takes more than speed to do that. He could be a top reciever, the "talent" is there, but I don't think he will, because of the mental aspects and toughness.

Parker to me is a 3/4 type WR, just our lack of talent there forces him to start.
