Bears | Fan changes name after Super Bowl XLI loss
Wed, 7 Feb 2007 21:19:37 -0800

The Associated Press reports Chicago Bears fan Scott Wiese has agreed to change his name after the Bears lost 29-17 to the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLI. Weise has agreed to change his name to Peyton Manning, after the Colts quarterback who led his team to victory. Weise signed a pledge in front of a crowd at a bar Friday, Feb. 2, that stated he would change his name if the Bears lost the Super Bowl. "I made the bet, and now I've got to keep it," Weise said.
