I need your expert T.V. opinions...
46" Samsung 1080P LCD for $1439
Or... Vizio 50" Plasma 1080P w/ 5.1ch Surround Sound Speaker System for $1399 Both from Sears. Do they allow you to haggle? Actually I also found the Vizio deal at Costco for $1299. The closest Costco is in Des Moines, and my Mom has a membership, so that is an option. Let me know what you think. Or... Or... I just found this for 1,219 from a 4star google retailer. Panasonic TH-46PZ85U model Viera plasma TV, 46" Viewable Image Size, 1920 x 1080 Resolution, 1080p Display Format, 16:9 Image Aspect Ratio, 30000:1 Image Contrast Ratio, 1000000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, Progressive Scan, 0.53 x 0.53mm Pixel Pitch, NTSC Analog TV Tuner, ATSC, QAM Digital TV Tuner, NTSC Analog Video Input Signals, 2 speakers (TH 46PZ85U TH46PZ85U TH46PZ85 TH-46PZ85 TH 46PZ85) Consumer reports has Panasonic rated as #1 as far as least repairs/refurbishes in both LCD and Plasma's. My only question would be if this model is susceptible to burn in. I know they supposedly fixed that in plasma's, just dunno if this was pre or post fix. Come on experts, help a brotha out. I'd recommend going on bestbuy.com and reading the customer reviews on the products. I don't know if they sell Vizio, but I do know I've heard nothing but good things about any Samsung TV.

Samsung is making some quality stuff these days. That would be the way to go IMHO.

Samsung = quality. Not that Vizio isn't good from what I've heard but, for $40 more, get the Samsung.

I like this. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LN46A6...productDetails
It significantly more than the options you list but IMO is the best LCD on the market currently. Buy it from Amazon, save the tax and Delivery, take their 2 years no interest.... it could be of interest to you. This of course depends on the financing/delivery you are getting from Sears. Out of the two you mention I'd take the Samsung. |

I own a 40" Samsung LCD TV and I love it. Whenever I get the chance to upgrade the other TV, I will go Samsung.
Their stuff is top quality so far.

Just recently went with a Samsung over the Vizio and various other brands. I chose Samsung primarily because of everything I read and everyone I asked said it was the best, had the best track record yadda yadda.
I am not disapointed. Mine is a 26" FWIW.

Of your original pair, I'd say Samsung we have a bunch of Vizios at work and two of them have crapped out in within a year. |

LG is the best, but Samsung is a close second.
