It's one of the top movies, if not THE top movie, by Pixar. Truly magical. The story, the characterization, the animation, the music... it's all top notch.

I gave a few of my opinions on it in this thread:
http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...highlight=wall Overall its really good, but not as good as Ratatoulle and Incredibles.

It was really good. But, we got tired, quickly, of the over bearing tree-hugging, environmentalist message. WallE and his silly antics were really funny. The love story was endearing. The animation was spectacular. The concept was amazing. But, I could do without the political message.

I think the Incredibles was the absolute best Pixar film of all. WallE may be 2nd or 3rd, but still really good.

The "message" was not subtle at all, but it didn't take away from the film for me. Honestly, I was hooked on the opening word, when a very young Michael Crawford began singing, "Out there... there's a world out side of Yonkers. Way out there beyond this hick town, Barnaby." I'm a musical fan (partly because of my mother, I'm sure), and I've seen Hello Dolly! a million times.

The message didnt bother me too much either, but it was pretty much "in your face" for a PIXAR flick. I thought the film bogged down in the middle during alot of the ship scenes.

I spent some time thinking about it last night, and I think it's stacked this way as far as animated flicks go:
1. Ratatouille 2. Wall*E 3. Shrek 4. The Incredibles 5. Horton Hears A Who! That's subject to change, though. |

I thought it was amazing and beautiful. And I'm glad for the message, I think it's important sometimes for an animated flick to have something like that in it...there's plenty of other movies/shows that offer no morality and just entertainment...so it's nice when the two are combined, imo.

I'll be interested to see it on Blue Ray...and see if it adds up to Ratatouille. There is no better blue ray movie than that, I think, as far as picture quality.

Are you talking about just CGI animation? What about the 2D Disney classics?

I thought it got a little sappy at times but I liked it.

I'm with you. Very, very good, but it just didn't capture me like the two you mention.

I never really connected with Ratatouie.
I liked the Incredibles, a lot, but I am still trying to decide if I'd rank this above or below that. |
