Need a program to help with video enhancing...

I have transfered this video onto my harddrive, and want to convert it to a dvd. However, the picture is super tiny on the computer. Is there a program that can enlarge the picture so it's full screen when I view it on as a DVD?

Thanks in advance.

Without knowing more details like resolution, type of video, codec, etc, it's pretty hard to say 'yea' or 'nay', but in general it's pretty difficult (i.e. not really possible) to enhance video in the way you're asking. Video pixelizes when you enbiggen it.

Now keep in mind that, if you're not doing hidef, standard DVD resolution is basically only 640x480, so it's possible that a video that looks tiny on your monitor could be just fine on a TV.

And when you say you've transferred it to your harddrive, where/what are you transferring it from? There might be something you can do at that point.

I transfered it from a dv camcorder.

You are probably right. I guess I don't want to enlarge it. I have to burn it on to a dvd. How hard would it be to convert it so it's easy to transfer onto dvd?

hehe "enbiggen"... Cialis should use that one in their ads.

Check the video resolution on the file properties. If the resolution is low, resizing it or up-scanning it to a higher resolution will look like pixelated garbage.

Simple. Use any burning tool to burn to DVD. Format = MPEG-2

Yeah if it's low-res enlarging it isn't going to do much other than making it look like crap.

FYI most DVD burning programs convert the files to DVD resolution (720x480).

Yep, that's your answer.

Since it's coming off a camcorder you may have to deal with whatever proprietary codec the camera manufacturer uses. You'd think they'd try to make this easy, but they don't always...

You might have a bundled software package included with the camcorder that will transfer it to DVD for you, that's probably the first thing I'd look into. If that's a no-go, then I'd look into trying to export the video from the camera in as high quality a file as possible, hopefully an mpeg-2 to make it as painfree for you as possible.
