That's actually 37 and one half hours, if my math is correct.

I've done quite a few that were an hour or so away, but they were all contract jobs that only lasted a couple weeks.

I figure I will give this place a few months. If its a good fit, I will start looking for a place closer.

I did a 110 mile total per day for 5-6 years then switched locations and have driven 90 niles a day for the last 6.5 years.

Bob Dole's current 6 minute drive is hellish.
Used to drive from Nashua (KC North) to Lee's Summit, which was about 45 minutes there and anywhere from 1.5-2.5 hours back. |

112 mile round trip. Love the job so two hours in the car doesn't suck. My daily driver gets about 42 MPG so gas is reasonable.

I drove about 160 miles round trip to work for like 5-6 months. I don't think it's that bad, what's your commute now?

I did 160 miles round trip for about 6 weeks for a summer job while I was still in school which included some occasionally bad traffic. Fortunately gas was a lot cheaper then.

If you drive over an hour total, the pay better make-up BIG TIME for the time, wear-and-tear on the vehicle, and "stress" of the drive (weather, dependent)...otherwise you need to seriously consider moving closer, IMHO. Just sayin'.
