Need advice for a tailgate flagpole
I've determined I'm going to invest in a portable flagpole for our tailgate this season (two flagger).

In doing some research, it looks like they vary greatly in price and quality.

Does anyone have a tailgate flagpole / stand or had luck with one kind over another?

I'm not looking to break the bank, but I don't want something that's shitty quality either.

I built one that mounted to my receiver hitch. The bad thing about it was you couldn't open the tailgate when it was mounted.

The expensive ones are pretty awesome and portable. The cheap ones suck. It's kinda the way the whole retail market works. You get what you pay for.

If you're anywhere near the south side of town. I have some portable poles that may suit your fancy. Various choices for about half of their regular price.

What's a reasonable price to pay with the "under tire" base?

Assuming aluminum is the way to go.

I've seen them as high as $300.

However, my second flag is made up of much heavier material then the Chiefs flag and that may be the real problem.

Due to wind/weather, I'd recommend the 3" aluminum poles. We carry 3 flags and have had no issue at all. For the mount, they have them at Cummins and Old Harbor Freight. You can just mount the base into a 2X12 and you're set. Very sturdy.
