Missouri has confirmed that starting tailback and team captain Derrick Washington has been suspended indefinitely.

Team spokesman Chad Moller - just prior to MU's last public practice of the pre-season - said Missouri Coach Gary Pinkel expected to address the situation following Thursday afternoon's scrimmage.

However, if Pinkel follows his normal stance on disciplinary action, he will not reveal the reason for Washington's suspension.

Not a huge loss, IMO.

I thought he'd be good based on his HS career. But I've also heard (like Dalton last year) stuff about him from folks who knew him before he got to Mizzou that isn't terribly favorable.

To be clear... Not Dalton-type rumors, but rumors from the same types that I heard the Dalton rumors... If that makes sense.

He's not even the best running back on the team.

Aldon Smith is the best player on the team, and will probably be a high 1st round draft pick when he leaves.

Gabbert has a chance to be a top five pick if he enters in 2012, and the success of the team rose and fell on his ankle last year.

Hell, I'd be more concerned about losing Wes Kemp than Washington. He has terrible vision and he pitter patters way too much.
