Torrey Smith Anyone?
I admit to not watching much Terps football. Torrey seems to have the speed we are missing at the WR spot and could be there at 21. I know Hankerson is the guy here everyone is eye balling, but thoughts on this guy. Maybe Jeremy Maclin V2?

I've been high on him for awhile now. He's got speed, size, and smarts. I wouldn't be upset if the Chiefs picked him in the first, and he will be there at 21. He's a late 1st - early 2nd prospect. He's not an early - mid 1st.

Mel had him at the #3 WR before the combine. I can't imagine he hurt his stock much.

I should have known better than talk about draft positions with someone thinking Kaepernick is going to be drafted before Newton. |

Smith didn't look very good running the passing drills. Didn't catch very well and was really choppy in his breaks. Not very fluid. He's going to have to have a lot of coaching at the next level to be effective. He's a project at this point.

Same school, same position, same plays that Bey ran. Smith isn't as fast, but close, and gets better separation than Bey, but he's far from polished in terms of being a real receiver. He's a project that will require good coaching. He also has Jimmy Clausen hands. There are a lot of other guys in this draft at the receiver position I'd take over him (in personal preferential order):
1. Austin Pettis 2. Jon Baldwin 3. Leonard Hankerson 4. Vincent Brown Chiefs have a legit #1 in Bowe. They've got their speed guy in Curtis. They've got their swiss army knife slot guy in McCluster. They need a long, possession type receiver that has great hands and can run precision routes. Smith does not fit the bill. |

Which statement is fuller of retart? Kevin Curtis is our speed WR Asamoah played LT ![]() We have 1 WR and 1 guy who's more of a gadget, might develop into something you can use in the slot. I'd love Pettis, but if we get someone in FA like James Jones... I used to hope Julio Jones might fall to us, but his worst case is Bengals passing on WR, Green going to Cleveland and Jones going to St Louis. More likely Green to Cinci and Jones to Cleveland. |

He timed a 4.35 at the combine and ran a 4.21 at his pro day. He's been productive in the league and wouldn't be a bad guy to have as your stretch the field type of receiver. And I'm not saying Curtis should be the #2 guy, unlike Chiefnj2 somehow thought. It's kinda why I'd like to have them draft a sure handed receiver that knows how to run a proper route. He should be the fourth receiver, stretch the field guy that has good hands. Jesus, the reading comprehension level around here is abysmal. Quote:
