Anyone have them?
I’ve had one on my inner thigh for a while. After reading on possible ways to rid myself of this little bastard, it appeared as though the best was to tie some string or dental floss around the base and let the sucker fall off. However, after about a week……nothing. So, I tied another piece around it. This time after a few days, it became really irritated, to the point I could barely walk. Apparently they’re supposed to turn black and fall off, but this one didn’t.

The damned thing was about the size of a kidney bean, and I decided ‘screw it’, I’m cutting it off. Numbed it for about ½ hour with some ice, while my razor sharp Gerber blade was boiling in water. Icing it sucked, because it was so close to Big Jim and The Twins, so that was no fun. Off to the bathroom; hydrogen peroxide onto the blade, and around the area, and I began to slice.

Although I ‘thought’ it was numb and wouldn’t hurt, wow….that first initial slice was pretty painful. At that point, I wasn’t sure if I could finish the job however by this point it was bleeing; not badly, but enough. So, I figured I have to complete the task. Another little slice…another. By this point, it was bleeding pretty good. Finally got some toilet paper around it to pull up on it, in what I hoped was the final slice on the base. I could tell I was almost done, then as I made it through the ‘stalk’, I could feel a small grind on the blade and it cut off.

Looking at it after it was off, I saw about a .1 of a CM of the stalk. Uhhhhggg. Nasty. After it was off though, only about 5 minutes of pressure stopped the bleeding. Some more peroxide on it, and some Neosporin, and it was good to go. Such a relief to walk without pain again!! Woo hoo.

Self-Surgery FTW!

From what I've heard you are supposed to use dental floss to immediately cut it off, not let it sit for days. =P

That sounds like an awful lot of trouble to go through when it would have only cost you the low, low price of $3900 at the hospital.

Man, that was painful to read. I have one under my arm and I'll have to work up some serious courage to attempt this.

I heard the opposite; cut the blood off, and it dies. But, I think that method works on smaller ones. This little bastard had that stalk feeding it. If I get another one, I'm tying a knot around it ASAP.

Yeah, I looked into having my doctor do it, but it's apparently considered 'cosmetic'. from my experience, 'cosmetic' = $$$$.

Grit your teeth and use a good pair of nail clippers.
Even if your not able to cut it off you'll kill it..it'll turn black and fall off in time.

Inner thigh is where I've also had one.

this was so thick at the base, it wouldn't fit into clippers.

almost though about using some grooming scissors, but they didn't appear very sharp.

I have a small one on my lower eyelid. My wife wants me to get it removed, but it doesn't interfere with my vision, so I can't justify spending the $$ to get it done.

Go to the Dr and let him take care of it and do it before it grows to the size of a kidney bean.

Troof.

actually, I should clarify. It was large, and unpainful. It got REALLY big (ie Kidney Bean) and sensitive once I tied the string around it.
