Pretty strong group this year. My six who deserve it the most would be:
Brett Favre (whatever) Kurt Warner (most dominant player in the league during his peak) Joe Jacoby (how is this guy not already in?) Kevin Greene (see above) Morten Andersen (if even one kicker deserves it, it's Andersen) Isaac Bruce (he or Holt, it doesn't matter) I find the discrimination against defensive backs to be very annoying.

Here's my full ranking of deservedness:
10) Brett Favre, QB -- I think he played a long time. 1) Morten Andersen, K -- Most dominating kicker the league has ever had. Accurate, productive, and could nail the long ones. 25) Kurt Warner, QB -- Most dominant player in the league at his peak. That's what the Hall of Fame is about. 14) Joe Jacoby, T -- Most dominant run blocker of his era. 11) Kevin Greene, LB/DE -- He'd already be in if not for switching teams so often. Very consistent high-motor pass rusher. 4) Isaac Bruce, WR -- Did he make Warner or did Warner make him? 13) Torry Holt, WR -- Isaac Bruce's twin. I can't decide between them. 12) Marvin Harrison, WR -- Good player, but come on. I'd have 10,000 yards catching from Manning. 24) Orlando Pace, T -- Pretty good, I think. 19) John Lynch, FS -- Good safety. I could see him a little higher on the list. I wouldn't grouse if he got in. 6) Roger Craig, RB -- Underrated contributor to the Montana offense. 21) Karl Mecklenburg, LB -- Couldn't stand him on the field, but he very disruptive at his peak. 5) Don Coryell, Coach -- Yeah, yeah, innovator. He'd be higher if he ever won anything. 22) Sam Mills, LB -- Good linebacker. In a weak year, maybe he could sneak in, but I doubt it. 3) Tony Boselli, T -- Hall of Very Good 9) Alan Faneca, G -- Hall of Very Good 18) Ty Law, CB -- Hall of Very Good 7) Terrell Davis, RB -- System back, Hall of Very Good 17) Mike Kenn, T -- He played forever and he was good, but ... Hall of Very Good 20) Kevin Mawae, C/G -- Hall of Good 15) Edgerrin James, RB -- I know he was productive and all, but I never feared him as an opposing fan. Meh. 16) Jimmy Johnson, Coach -- You have to do more than Jimmy to get into the Hall of Fame. 23) Terrell Owens, WR -- Dominating on the field. Great stats, great player. But he made his teams worse by being such a jerk. You have to take into account his impact on the team and it was very negative. 2) Steve Atwater, S -- Very overrated. Just another safety who made some good hits. Come back when Deron Cherry and Kenny Easley are in. 8) Tony Dungy, Coach -- Why? Why? This is such a joke.

Sam Mills was a great linebacker, and the heart and soul of that group of LBs that is considered among the top 5 all time. Holt was better and more dynamic than Bruce, and was more consistent over time. And **** kickers.

Sam Mills was one of the smartest LBs that I ever saw.
Just before the snap, he would routinely point to the gap/point of attack where the offense was planning to run.

He created the greatest offensive system in NFL history, IMO. While he didn't have the same success as Walsh or Parcells (who used the Earhardt/Perkins), Vermeil, Johnson, Gibbs and others used it to win Super Bowls.
It's still my favorite offense by a wide margin. |

He gets credit because he utilized the passing game elements more than Gillman, but it was Gillman's system.

Joe Gibbs won with the system, as did Jimmy Johnson, Dick Vermeil, Mike Martz, Norv Turner, John Robinson and more. I can't think of another eligible coach that's more deserving. |

No. He simply utilized the passing game more than Gillman, and he utilized the intermediate and deep game more than Bill Walsh (and Hank Stram), who simply took Gillman's short passing concepts to "create" the West Coast offense.
