Alex Smith is the only QB in NFL history to start a season with at least 15 TD/0 INT

Rare air for the MVP. Truly this is the golden age of Chiefs football.

We have to water down the criteria to find his comparables, so here are the QBs who threw at least 15 TD and less than 3 INT in the first half of a season:

So is Alex Smith Tom Brady/Peyton Manning/Aaron Rodgers...or is he Brian Griese?

Stay tuned!

I'm sure I'll get blasted for this but to to me no interceptions could be taken in a negative light as well. I think a great quarterback has to take risks at times as well. I think Alex is safe to a fault at times when he needs to be more willing to fit the ball in a tight window and trust your guys to come up with the ball.

Rodgers threw 6 in 2011
Brady threw 2 last year

Fewer interceptions, the better
No reason to pretend like he doesn't throw deep. He's thrown a ton a deep passes.

He's just that good this year: 15 TD, 0 INT, 2000 yards.

Nick Foles 2013 year should be duly noted at 27 TD and 2 int but that was for a whole year.

Alex is awesome!

If he goes 33 TDs and 0 Ints regular season and then carries that into the playoffs we will go to the SB.

But yea, that aint happening.

The only game he played poorly in was the Pittsburgh game and even then the offensive line was complete garbage. I don’t know how anyone blames him for the Oakland debacle.
