The 55 Yard Penalty....
Don't know who watched the Dallas v. Oakland game last night but if you did, you saw the longest penalty of the season. A 55 yard, DPI call on Dallas.

Oakland was down to their last drive and I think their last down and Carr just chucks one deep. Flags fly and DPI is called, 55 yards down field. Oakland goes from dead to ready to win the game.

It was a legit call but seriously, any penalty of that magnitude is a gift. The NFL has to go change these bullshit rules.

A) PI needs to be spot foul with 15 yard max
B) Extended penalties that tack on at the end of a play must go with the exception of personal fouls

If the offense gets called for holding on a play the QB takes a sack, the defense either gets the play and down counts or takes the penalty and down doesn't count.

They don't add 10 yards onto the end of the play.

Offense consistently gets calls where "5 yards added to the end of run and automatic 1st down".

Automatic 1st downs need to go as well. 5 yard penalty for defensive holding. If it creates a 1st because of yardage, fine.

Bring defense back to the game....

15 yard DPI should be the max.

Funny how the NFL assumes the WR would've caught the ball had there not been DPI considering it's a spot foul penalty right now.

Problem is, either way someone gets ****ed. I'm not sure you guys will like the rule change when CBs start tripping Tyreek and we net a 15 yard penalty instead of a sure-fire 60+ yard TD.

Coaches need to start having guys practice that more to negate this bullshit tactic.

If our DBs didn't shit the bed when faced with a 50/50 ball then there'd be no problem. Just get your head around and you can get away with a little contact.

Agreed. That happens to hill 3 times and the opinion would change. The rule kind of has to stay but the refs need to use some discretion on the deep passes. Maybe give them an option although giving the refs discretion never works.

I think it's been a spot foul as long as I can remember. I dont think anything needs changed. Would be a huge advantage for the defense if it was only a 15 yard penalty.
