If we keep playing like this, we won't be in a position to draft Stafford. It's not good or bad, it is what it is.

With that being said, a genetic freak like Rak daddy would go a long way towards fixing the ills of this defense. He's not as long as Michael Johnson, but he's fast, explosive, and incredibly strong. Plus, he's taken boxing lessons, so Krumrie will love him with his ****tard slap-fight drill.

There could be worse selections in the 3-7 range where we will most likely choose.

They also have a great pass rush.

There are plenty of bad D's with a great MLB (SF), no pass rush, who suck accordingly.

Mays I think would be a SS in the NFL....he's 6'3 235lbs....hell he could pretty much take TE's out of games if you wanted him to.

I think he's either or but Mays is LB sized with corner speed.

That's true, and I'm completely on the Orakpo train. I was speaking hypothetically with Orakpo being gone.

I'm Stafford, Orakpo, Rey Rey, in that order. I don't think Po will be there at 6. I don't like Johnson.

A truly good D coordinator would use him as a SS in base and a third corner/FS in a strong nickel, IMO.

As a USC guy I'm still going to ride that wagon that Mays is going to be a better pro than Maualuga.

Here's what you should hope for:

1) Oher, Smith, and Monroe destroy their workouts
2) Vontae Davis kills the combine
3) Michael Johnson's size makes him "irresistable".

If we are talking about middle linebackers, if he comes out I like Micah Johnson from Kentucky in the 2nd or 3rd.

You could make a cas for any position with that thinking. We had the best pass rusher in the league last year, and our D sucked Bawls so there would be plent of examples for any position, but I get what you're saying. I want a pass rusher badly, and am on that wagon with Orakpo, but if he's gone you gotta do what you gotta do. I just don't think Johnson is going to be that great.

I would almost guarantee Vontae Davis will be a super high pick, you'd expect Vernon Davis brother to kill the combine right? For those that don't know he is Vernons brother.

One good pass rusher does not make a pass rush, especially when he has no production after halftime.

I agree, and like I said I'm on the Orakpo train all the way, cause I don't think we have a shot Stafford.
I would not be mad about getting a dominant MLB. A good one can stop the run, and put teams in a lot of third, and longs which seriously helps any pass rush.

Again I really want a pass rusher, and am making these startments considering Orakpo is gone. If he's not, I think it's a no brainer.

I still think we pick top 5. I only see two games that I would give us a 50/50 shot at winning--Oakland and Cincy. We'll be big dogs in all the other games.

If we lose out on Stafford and Orakpo, then we should look to move down to around 7-8, because the LTs will be in demand from St. Louis, Oakland, and Cincinnati.

I don't know if I would want Taylor Mays in the top 10, I really don't see him as a Sean Taylor type of prospect.
