Breaking News: The Chiefs have traded DT Tank Tyler to the Carolina Panthers for an undisclosed draft pick in 2010.

Basically it's like this, the 3-4 requires tons of specialized personnel. When you are competing with 5 other teams for that it's not a big deal...

When you are competing with 15 all of the sudden the players that use to be great value are pushed up and we end up with things like Tyson Jackson as the 3rd pick.

I thought he improved. I like him too, disappointed to see him go, but not pissed about the 5th. Wasn't he a steal when we got him though? His negative character never came into play, so he should have been a great pick. I love Herm's "coaching" (or destroying good prospects, we lucked out on Flowers and Carr...)

iirc DT had 20 sacks the year before as a ROLB in a 3-4

No Doubt...and it still gives us an advantage because those players typically don't fit the 4-3, thus causing their stock to drop to 3-4 specific teams.

Im not being a dumbass... in yards the still would be number 2 after Rivers has his way... you told me to look at the top defenses this year and i did... 2 of the top 3 runs 3/4's... i was just answering your question with facts...

i understand your logic that 3-4 is a trend... but Pioli knows the 3-4... let him build it his way...

Like another post said, whats the difference when we didnt have the personnel to run either effectively...

KC did it back in the day with Marty. Now nearly everyone does it that has a good running game.
