Picked up my 06 Trailblazer Saturday!

Well after long hours of looking at SUV's from just about EVERY manufacturer for the past two weeks my wife and I decided on an 06 Trailblazer.

recxjake if you are out there I will tell you this much. ANYONE that has a relative that has retired from a GM plant gets one hell of a discount on a new vehicle.

We never really looked at GM at first because of the Consumer reports. I have to say that the Trailblazer has come ALONG way in customer satisfaction from just a few years back till the last two years according to consumer reports.

Test drove a Honda CRV and it DID have nice throttle reponse as well as get up and go while on the move. But it was like riding in a cracker box for me.

I refuse to trade my comfort for MPG.

I am completely satisfied with this vehicle so far.

I will attach pics.

Eh... make it 48.

There should be some kind of a metric on these car sites that measures how the car holds up over the time it takes a typical owner to pay it off.

Depreciation on a 3 year old AMERICAN made SUV is more than 20K under sticker.

It is more than 24 months but I have to say I won't buy a GM SUV again.

Lesson learned.

Nope. Bug shield and vent shades on the doors were a must for the WU as our Suburban has those and she really like them. So we had them install OEM bug gaurd and vent shades.

The only other things I wish I could have afforded at purchase were stock splash gaurds and tubular running boards, and the DVD entertainment package to keep the kid at bay for the next few years.

Although looking at aftermarket DVD systems that mount to the roof are much cheaper and I got friends that do those kinds of installs for a living and would do it for a modest price. WU wants to get one of those portable ones and mount it to the back of the front seat. I say go for the overhead with drop down screen and buy a portable to take on trips for the hotel room. The wireless headsets are worth thier weight in gold as far as I am concerned.

Hey, Splash guards are cheap, easy to install and well worth it. I have put them on my last three vehicles. I think the ones for my 2005 Chevy Z 71 were about $30 a piece and install with two screws. Well worth it. Saves the paint and keeps the mud/splash off the clean vehicle.

Much cheaper to buy them through a parts store than the dealer...

yessss.... you are my new favorite person in the world....

congrats, just think you probably saved a union workers job for a few months!!!

yea the GM employee discount is great... usually 18% off, plus current incentives... and most importantly it gets rid of having to make a deal w/ those slimeballs...

Dude do you remember GM having a price slash from the sticker back in January?

The dealer I went to located this one for us down in Oklahoma City.

It gets up here and and the price slash is 3K off from sticker.

Then they tell me the GMS pricing we get is OFF of the new slashed price and that is 3K MORE off of the sticker and then we got the Chevy $1K rebate PLUS it was eligible for the $1K March Madness sale.

That is $8K off of sticker BEFORE we put our downpayment on it.

I was happy and grinning ear to ear when I left there.
