That's high. I don't think that's dangerously high yet, but you should probably do something about that.

I never buy gas at BP, their prices are always high. I usually go to the Cenex station.

Don't listen to doctors. I had my cholesterol checked and they told me my Triglycerides were at 1600. 500 is considered very high. I am still here so screw them.

I wouldn't worry about one reading. Especially since the diastolic is 88. If you're concerned, buy a blood pressure monitor. They're pretty cheap these days and very accurate.

Caffeine? Smoker? Overweight? History of high cholesterol in your family? History of heart disease?

If any of those apply, go see a doctor immediately. Hell, go see a doctor immediately, regardless.

That's ****ing HIGH.

It's not that bad. The last number is the one you need to worry about. I mean, it is a bit high, but not out of this world.

Before I went on my BP medicine, mine was 200/150. THAT'S HIGH. Made the nurse's eyes bug out of her head while she was taking it. Needless to say, that's not a look you want to see on your health care professional's face. But I'm fine now.

Wow.

Went I had a physical two years ago, my BP was 124/80. The doctor was very concerned about my blood pressure. Turns out, I was just nervous. On many subsequent visits, it's been 118/78 or even lower.

I had been begging my Dad to go to get a physical for nearly a decade. At age 65 he finally went (he hadn't seen a doctor in 30 years or more). His blood pressure was 175/130. They immediately did stress tests. That afternoon, they called to inform him that one of his arteries was 99% blocked and another 60% blocked. They performed angioplasty and put in two stents.

That was one year ago. He's been on all kinds of medicine to clear up the 60% blockage (they didn't use the balloons on that and instead used medicine) and hasn't felt "right" since before the procedure. He's bloated and retaining huge amounts of water (even while taking diuretics, his ankles and feet are hugely swollen) and he can't lose weight.

I feel sorry for him but I'm glad he finally went. I'm certain it saved his life.

Bottom line, I don't **** around with my health. Especially blood pressure and cholesterol.

Your doctor was concerned about 124/80? I think your doctor is just trying to scare you so you'll keep coming back for office visits.
