We ran into this topic late Saturday night in another thread.

I personally don't like Cam at all. He's got a ton of talent, but is an absolute idiot. He can't even learn a full playbook. Newton has put up some big numbers, but they haven't translated into a lot of wins.

He is 13-19 as a starter over 2 years.

58.9% comp | 7,920 yards pass | 40 passing TDs | 29 INTS | 1,447 rush yards | 22 rushing TDs |

Would you give up our no. 1 pick for Cam Newton?

Kaepernick, RG3, Vick, Geno, etc failed miserably while Cam didn't. He's truly a rare QB.

Cam is probably the best QB in the league but who a lot of the public roots for will be divided down racial and cultural lines. Sad but true. Let's just say what it is. Bottom line, carolina is the superior team and has the more dynamic QB. Plus, **** the donks!

Russell Wilson plays with less talent yet has achieved so much more in a short period of time. He had to watch Percy Harvin disappear and the team let go of golden tate. Seattle's receivers are literally undrafted players and a 3rd round rookie. And where was Jimmy Graham all season? Yet he posts ridiculous numbers behind one of the worst rated O-lines.

Cam also has 3 quality running backs meanwhile RW has a broken Marshawn and Rawls was lost for the season.

Carolina's roster is stacked. Lotuleilei and Kuechly are the icing on the cake.

Let's see 5 offensive line + Cam + Olsen + Stewart (career 4.5 YPC) = 8 out of 11 starters that are high quality

Add on the league's #2 defense.

Well when you are criticized for sulking on the side line when your team is losing and you flip your lifted truck 4 times on the highway and fracture your back I wouldn't say that's much of an improvement. Just watch when all of this begins to fall apart over the next 2 seasons as their talent will begin to ask for fair market value.

I will bet that Wilson will continue doing his thing in Seattle while Cam goes back to being a 18TD/10INT QB at best.

Cam is more Kaepernick than he is Russell Wilson. I think people's short term memory failures are getting the best of em.

Wilson will be fine and I highly doubt Newton regresses all the way down to ASS11 type levels. You have been about as wrong on this guy so far as one can be. Keep throwing shit on a wall Bob, eventually something may stick.

Remind me what Cam's stat line was against the Seahawks?.. I have been saying all along that he is hiding behind the schemes of his brilliant coach. Just as Kaep did with harbaugh. Cam gets far more credit than he deserves meanwhile his extraordinary O-line and stable of running backs are carrying most of the load.

I can only hope the Chiefs pay for a RT and draft another OL so we can utilize West, Ware, and Charles to this level of efficiency.
