Interesting read, but 8th in the ratings sounds about Wright (intended).

When you're below Skid Roadie in the ratings, they usually shovel dirt on you.

He's terrible. There is nothing good about his show. he may be cocky and confident, i guess you kinda have to be, but, i wont listen to him. lol My days are now spent listening to Max and Marcellus espn L.A and Mason and Ireland. At least for right now.

I tried once or twice. Dude just sucks. It would be funny though to see his little white self trying to become friends with chiefs players.
It's not like it's that hard to get close to Eric Berry or Dex or any of them. Just go to those clubs and buy a bottle |

He's okay during Chiefs season, but he's grown up listening to 'sports talk' hosts like Jim Rome who think they're bigger than the sports they cover. Kietzman's like this, as well, albeit on a smaller scale. Whitlock was like this.
That's why I can't listen to these guys in all but the smallest doses. I want to hear interviews with people who actually know something about the sports they're talking about, I want to hear people who I believe actually love the sports and the players, rather than trying to grease them up so they can push themselves and their shows. And I want hosts who care about the people listening to the show. This is actually why I like Petro. I know a lot of people don't, but the guy clearly, to my ear, loves the sports he covers. He's a sports nerd, just like anybody here. He seems less like a host, less like a personality, more like a guy who both knows a lot about sports and loves to talk about it. And while he does talk about himself, his show is not about him and never has been, at least not when I've listened. So he's basically the only guy I'll listen to outside of Chiefs training camp (Chiefs coverage is different for all of these guys - they tend to go guest heavy, give practice reports and so on, and it's a huge improvement over the other 11 months of the year). The first year or two here, Wright barely even took calls from listeners. Because it was apparently an interruption of whatever stream-of-consciousness diatribe he had going on that night. I don't care about Wright. I don't care about Kietzman. I don't care about what they did or who they knew in college. I don't care who they play golf with. What I care about is the Royals and Chiefs. These talking heads...they're nobody. |

I lived with the weird swallow/breathing thing he used to do, but the pauses due to tweeting/reading tweets while doing the show has all but ended it for me.

Say what you will about Nick but I like hearing what's on someone's mind without sugar coating it because imo he's just saying what a lot of people are thinking and has no problem putting it out there.
