Coaching Preference?
Ok gang,
So I was observing some posts between two respected members earlier this season and there was a little bit of a debate happening about what kind of a coach they'd prefer, (if there was going to be a change in KC). My question to you, oh wise and horny planeteers is this... Which coach would you prefer to roam the sidelines for the next say, 5 years or so? Coach A: A Norv-Bill Cowher-ottenheimer type of coach. One that has had a ton of experience, a few playoff wins and possibly a SB victory under his belt. He'll likely get this team on track fairly quickly but chances are, he won't hoist the Lombardi any time soon. This coach will bring us a playoff victory or two by 2015 and maybe, just maybe he'll get us to the big game. He will be MR. Consistency. Coach B: A John Gruden-wisenhutish type of cach. This coach is the up and commer in the NFL. We thought that's what we were getting with Haley, (and maybe we did) but it seems unlikely. This coach will be all or nothing. He will either get us a 14-2 year and a couple Super-Bowl births OR.... He will totally ruin this team, (See McDaniels) and we will be stuck rebuilding until footballs are made out of titanium and robots are roaming the field with fricken lasers. He will be Mr. Flash-Pan There's a poll coming for you to click on. That's right, Click on my poll. CLICK IT HARD! My apologies if repost. |

Hey now... There's almost an equal chance either way, (depending on how you look at it).
Personally, I miss the days of almost being good enough to make it...

I want a coach that attacks on both sides of the ball. A guy who will dictate the game to the opposition, not some read and react horseshit. Offense? Line up in 11 personnel and bang it down the field. Defense? A more blitz heavy attack, provided the corners can hold their own. Empose your will, and only let up when we're 4+ TD's ahead.

I voted to stick with Haley for the time being. I'd like to see him with a new QB to be honest.

When Haley was hired, he wasn't my first choice.
I really wanted to go after Jim Shwartz or Ron Rivera. I did like the idea, and still do, of hiring a guy new to the position. I'll suffer through the growing pains. I think Haley is the type of coach, one that's not afraid of risk, that can win championships when he learns, and when he has all the important pieces in place. So, I'll stick with Haley. And just so know, I am not clicking your poll. I never click on polls.

I feel the exact same way. And Schwartz was my top choice as well. Haley was my 2nd. |
