No thread for this?
So far a new Macbook Pro 13in., Maci Mini, and iMac. I have to say, the iMac and Macbook Pro are very sexy computers. Mmmm |

I like what I'm seeing on the Fusion Drives. Amazing new design.

My iMac and MacBook are still performing like they did since day one in 2008. So glad I switched after a decade of multiple PC's and laptops.

My problem with these new computers without optical drives is I buy a bunch of used DVDs for little of what they sell for retail. But it's becoming hard to play them anywhere. I need to come up with a new solution...

They make these new devices called DVD players. They play DVDs. You can even hook them up to a television!

I mean more for travelling though. I like being able to throw a few DVDs in if i'm on a trip, or if I'm staying at a hotel. And watch them on my laptop. I haven't found a good way to replicate that yet. |

Honestly, I have completely phased out physical DVDs from my collection. The only DVDs I still own are my daughter's kids DVDs. I have digitized my entire collection. Between that, and the availability of just about any movie streaming online, I haven't needed a DVD drive much. I use my iPad when I'm on the go. The HDMI adapter lets me hook it up to any TV for TV out, or I can watch directly on the iPad.

But you're right, there has to be a solution. I'm ready to get rid of DVDs as well. |

Wow...the new iMacs are impressively thin. Certainly would look classy on a desk.
