If someone buys the official SF4 joystick, please do a mini review for us.
I have a Hori EX2 fight stick that i bought for SSF2 HD remix. its ok, but the stick isn't nearly mushy enough. the stick and the buttons are very clickity-clackity.

There is a great thread on neogaf on arcade sticks. I've linked it more than once.

ya i've seen that article. the joystick and buttons that i would buy to replace the current ones (+ shipping) costs just as much as a higher quality arcade stick setup. And i would need to buy a dremel and soldering iron. So i'm looking for opinions on the other sticks.

im playing it right now for 360. The game is ok, the good thing is all the original street fighter II characters are back. Even Bison/balrog/vega.
They have this weird thing with teh medium punch and kick. When holding both down, itll do a force hit against your opponent, kinda like a Rage, or from SF EX. It'll knock the opponent woozy for a few seconds. kinda lame since my button config does use medium, I have to adjust. It doesnt look like it's blockable, not very street fighterish. They also do stop motion animation, freezing the game for a comic'esque feel, right before a super move, they got too cute with it. The gameplay is good, but I still think SF3 has the better pure game play. It looks like theres no parrying as well. The fighters kinda seem to take their time to get up, its kinda annoying. Nothing really new added to the game except for a few characters, and of course the graphics. The last leader Seth, is a bitch to beat. I still havent figured out how to unlock Akuma. Havent played with friends yet since I just got it last night, maybe itll get better against human players.

Thinking about picking this guy up - I just hope the D-Pad isn't a "floaty" one like the 360 is.

I'll be picking up a Ken pad for the 360.
Madcatz just gives me worries though...

They can make an excellent product one day and turn around and make a shit product the next. I'll just return the damned thing if I don't like it - the only thing that worries me is the D-Pad.

I gotta wait until about 4-5 my time. argh I kind of want to get the madcatz controller, i dont know if i want to pick up a 80 dollar arcade stick. Thats lot lol
**** it, goign to get it for the PS3 first. Going to go pick it up right now. I will get it on the 360 in a few months when its a bit cheaper along with a stick. lol I cant afford a stick atm, and the ps3 controller is better to play with it on. *edit2* Have to have it pre ordered. Walmart is getting it in tomorrow. Oh well, tomorrow it is. Last edited by kcxiv; 02-17-2009 at 06:37 PM.. |
