Vicodin, Does it work for you?
I've had chronic back pain for quite some time now. The docs finally decided to go a bit harder on the drugs so I can sleep at night. They gave me a crapload of Vicodin and I was like, "Holy shit, I'm gonna get effed up and feel no pain!" Unfortunately this is the third night in a row I've taken it and I don't really feel a difference. I'm pretty dissapointed after listening to all those Eminem songs talking about it I'm gonna drink a beer to see if that helps.
Has anyone else had no effects from taking Vicodin? What could be the reason I'm not? Thanks, Have another beer on me! |

I prefer Oxycotin or Ms, of course that's why I don't take it anymore...I Like it to much.
Seriously some people have a very high tolerance for some type of meds. Vicodin (Hydrocodone) never worked for me, so they always used Percocet(Oxycodon) instead, at least tell I built to much of a tolerance. just a word of warning, all that shit can be addictive as hell, and I'm speaking from experience. |

I prefer Percocet. Right mix of feel good to side effect ratio for me.

The danger of taking too much Vicodin is that it has a shitload of acetaminophen (Tylenol) in it and if you take more than 4000mg of Tylenol a day for for too long, your liver will go to shit and I mean SHIT. FDA is about to change a lot of laws regarding combination meds (with Tylenol) due to massive amounts of liver failures. Percocet is the same except it has Oxycodone in it instead of Hydrocodone and that's pretty much like heroin. Take enough Oxycodone (chronic pain, years worth), there's no getting off that shit, the doctors will be increasing the doses until you're wearing patches (Fentanyl), sucking lollipops and popping pills 24/7 just to sustain the opiate addiction... the good thing is that opiate tolerance pretty much has no ceiling, the bad thing is that it gets really really expensive.
It's really scary.

He's not kidding. I have some crazy stories of customers coming in and "needing" their medicine right away. 9.9999/10 times the medicine they needed was percocet/vicodin. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone to be honest.

I saw one of the resident doctors on CNN talking about this a month or so ago. He said that the acetaminophen creates some kind of substance in your system that can be toxic to the liver. Under normal circumstances your liver has the ability to break this toxin down to prevent damage, but apparently when you drink, the alcohol suppresses whatever it is that breaks down the toxin so your liver gets hit pretty hard.
