Does anyone else like hitting up garage/estate sales?
Last Saturday I was on my way to Sam's Club, going down 95th, and saw a sign for a garage sale. Stopped on a whim and ended up spending three hours probably hitting up 6-7 different houses. Signs everywhere, just a little west of 95th and State Line.
Lots of rich people selling shit for cheap. Picked up a nice 8-piece china set for two bucks. The estate sale was nuts, the whole house was for sale. Got some clothes, a drinking glass and a couple gifts. Where are the best places around KC to find garage sales? I was honestly impressed just with the amount right off 95th...I'm definitely going again soon. |

I think prices tend to go down toward the end of the day because people don't want to put the shit back up. Early in the day high prices but end of the day low prices and easier to bargain with the seller.

Whole-house estate sales can be decent, but the people running them generally can figure out if something actually has some value.
Garage sales are shit. 99% is stuff that belongs in the garbage and will likely end up there when the sale ends. |

I don't seek them out, but I'll stop if there's one on the road I'm traveling. I picked up some like-new board games a couple of weeks ago, to replace a couple of well used ones I had. I also picked up a complete dart board set, with 3 sets of darts and a spare board. It cost $7 for all of it.
I've also picked up a barely used Kitchen Aid mixer ($20 bucks), a massive professional desk with accompanying bookcases (mint condition), a professional grade popcorn maker ($15) and a lot of other great things at yard/garage and estate sales. |

My ex loved to go to garage sale on the weekends. Ended up with a garage full of other peoples shit.
My new lady wanted to have a garage sale for some of her stuff. "F that" I said and gave her $500 for all of it. Then off to Goodwill. Last time I needed to purge, I just put it all in the driveway in the evening with a "Free" sign. Most of it was gone before I woke up. |

If you're into that, going to a thrift store is a WAYYYY better use of your time.

I will be a Top Seller on ebay by the end of July.
Thrift Stores and Garage sales make up about half of my total inventory, and about 95% of my unlisted inventory. It's a Gold Mine. Especially any, and I mean ANY electronics (old cell phones), PC components, purses and women's shoes. If you list it correctly, it sells. It aaaaaaaaaaall sells. |

It's just finding them - Old Adidas Trefoil tee's Retro anything I sell on ebay and was a power seller for a long time - however I found a few direct customers so I don't sell as often. I have completed 1261 deals and still carry 100% A lot of what I BUY are older vintage clothing items. & usually they're not cheap. |
