Wow, and he's a man who genuinely deserves his contract. Thanks, Flowers!

Far cry from the past several seasons when KC had $ MILLIONS of cap space left even during the season.

So, why are they clearing cap space? To sign a FA? I can't imagine who it would be. Or, to give Albert a long term contract?

No real indication of a big move coming. Teams like to have a little cap cushion in case of an injury situation, and the money rolls over to next season's cap regardless. I don't believe they can negotiate with Albert, as he signed his contract already this season. It's highly doubtful that Albert will be in KC next season, and I imagine the Chiefs didn't select Fisher at 1.1 to be their RT after this year anyway.

"Hey Brandon, we are over on the cap. How about we reduce your cap number, and uh, just give you this nice 3 mil up front?"
