Chiefs Vrabel Good influence or not?

Mike Vrabel explained away his absence from all Chiefs voluntary workouts by saying he was "just trying to exercise my rights within the (CBA)" and that the practices were not mandatory for players.

Still, both parties would've been much better off had Vrabel attended. He's supposed to be the leader of new coordinator Clancy Pendergast's hybrid defense and is out of Bill Belichick's system for the first time this decade.

The jury's out on Vrabel. You'll have to wait and see how he shows up to camp. He's usually pretty professional, so I'm hoping he'll show up in shape, ready to play, and do his part not only on the field but on the sidelines.

And, hey, if not, he was basically a throw-in in the Cassel deal anyway. Cut his ass and move on.

He's probably only got a good season or two left in him anyway.

A good season or two of Vrabel is probably worth more than any linebacker the Chiefs had in the last 7 years.

Im worried about many more players than just Vrabel.Waters,LJ,all the recievers.Im thinking Vrabel is the least of our worries at this point.

Why LJ? He's been here and been working, and that's from multiple sources. Waters I agree with you on. On-topic: Vrabel needs to show up ready to rock for camp, otherwise he really doesn't have any upside, especially when Thomas is pretty much being a defensive role model right now anyway.

Herm basically ruined LJ's career with his buffoonery. Getting paid or not, I appreciate him showing up from day one and working hard while we all sit here on our lazy summer asses and hurl insults at the guy.

This is the first time Vrabel has been traded. Look at Zack Thomas, he knows how it feels to be thrown around, so he knows he has to put in that extra effort. I think Vrabel will find that out too, but not on the first go.

The safety that Carl "insisted" be apart of the trade that brought Montana to KC. Carl said, this really made this trade happen.

I think Vrabel was much more of a player in NE than what Whitmore was in SF. And I'm guessing he will out do Whitmore in KC also.
