Is Greinke a lock for the Cy Young?
These guys seem to think so.
I started losing track of the Royals once they started sucking hardcore again, but Greinke has still been great. I didn't think he'd stay in the Cy Young race just because of the lack of talent surrounding him. If he can manage 15 or 16 wins without any run support whatsoever, that's just as amazing of an accomplishment as the strikeout and ERA numbers. (Not particularly sorry if repost) |

Well to think that most of his losses were games where he gave up 2 or less runs. Any decent team in the majors would have gotten him the win. Put him on the Cardinals and he'd have 20 wins easy.

Why do I see Sabathia winning it for some reason?

Heck no he's not a lock, not while he's playing for a team that is closing in on 100 loses.

Greinke is the runaway winner of the Cy if the voters would pay attention to all of the things that actually matter.

Greinke should win the Cy Young, but I have a feeling it is going to be Sabathia. He has been a horse down the stretch for the Yanks, but looking at the numbers it should be Greinke. A 2.32 ERA and a 5:1 K/BB ratio along with .619 winning percentage on this dogshit team should put him in the drivers seat for the Cy Young the last month of the season.
Edit: He also has the worst run support in the league. |

Greinke should have started in the All Star game. He didn't. He should win the Cy Young. He probably won't. Thanks to Kurkjian for supporting him, though.

Hw won't win it. MAny times the award, when contested between two pitchers with similair numbers, goes to the team that's in the hunt for a division title.
If he were 19-5, it would be different. It sucks, but it's true. |

The only pitcher with similar numbers is Felix Hernandez.

Nope! Coz, he should've pitched 20 shut outs!!! He plays on the Royals ... a big city pitcher will win the CY.
