Mock (3/13/13)
Like yesterday's we can probably expect this to be obsolete by the day's end.
Assumptions: 1. The Chiefs let Glenn Dorsey walk, and cut Cassel. 2. They get one compensatory pick, an extra third (Carr). 3. The Chiefs try furiously to trade down, but there are no takers. 1. OT Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M The Chiefs don't seem to believe they can reach a deal with Branden Albert roughly around the same time they've decided that Chase Daniels is the future of Kansas City quarterbacking. God. 3. RB Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina The Chiefs need to add a blue chip to the stable. Lattimore is a big back with legit speed and elusiveness. 3. ILB Kevin Riddick, North Carolina Riddick has fallen down draft boards from a poor Combine, but the Chiefs know better. They land Riddick in the third, knowing he is a sure tackler with a nose for the ball. 4. WR Markus Wheaton, Oregon State A deep draft at speed receiver gives the Chiefs a few options. One option is they can go for Wheaton, a legit burner, in the midrounds. 5. OLB Quanterus Smith, Western Kentucky I care about three things, mainly, when it comes to passrushers: 40 time, arm length, and most recent college production. Smith is two for three (he hasn't run his 40 yet). 6. CB Tharold Simon, LSU Some depth might be necessary. The Chiefs opt here for a big corner with some speed. 7. ILB AJ Klein, Iowa State I like Klein a ton, but he has slid down boards everywhere it seems. More for me, I guess. Klein has starting upside. |

Terrible.
Joeckel.. blah. Lattimore? No thanks. We have a bluechip in our stable & shouldn't spend anything higher than a 5th on a RB. We can find gems undrafted or in the 6th. Riddick... I'd take him... in the 4th. In the 3rd you can get a better ILB prospect. Wheaton? He won't be available in the 4th. 5-6? No thanks. Don't like either picks. AJ Klein in the 7th? You mailed it in today, son. I am disappoint.

A sure sign that Pestilence has thrown in the towel. Look at Floyd's video...are we really looking for another raw (high ceiling, low production) guy not that different than Poe last year? That makes no sense at all.

No RB please at 3.1. Substitute a CB or S there.
At 4.2 we need no speed receiver. We have Avery and Alex won't throw to speed receivers because of his lack of accuracy. Substitute TE or S |

Would you think about taking Dennard Robinson in the late rounds?

Absolutely.
Actually, if he had really good hands as a receiver, I'd consider him as early as the 5th. I just have no idea if his hands are any good because he never played receiver. |

I think he could be a monster steal in the later rounds. Could be a poor mans Harvin and a really good weapon.
Def worth the risk of a 5 or 6 rounder. |
