It's unclear if Softli is passing along a sourced report or pure speculation. His Twitter account can be hard to decipher. Softli dropped the nugget as Stoops' Sooners turned in a surprisingly strong Sugar Bowl performance against Alabama. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported earlier in the week that Stoops was "open" to making the leap to the NFL after 15 years at Oklahoma.

Pretty Sure he'd not want to be forced to hire Schwartz. If they have that big a hard on for Jim Schwartz it limits their HC choices significantly

I think he is on the downward turn at OU and he knows it. Going to the pros would let him get out without looking bad. Even if he goes back to college in a few years he would still be away from OU without being the goat.
