Mock, with one crazy-ass assumption.
This is how I would do things.
1. The Chiefs finish 6-10, and they are picking at #10. 2. I would retain Romeo Crennel as coach, and trade my first round pick for QB Peyton Manning, assuming he returns at something very, very close to 100%. I would then consult with Peyton to locate an OC he'd like to work with. That first round pick would come with a second pick in 2012 depending on his performance. 3. I tender ILB Jovan Belcher & K Ryan Succop. 4. I franchise WR Dwayne Bowe, a big deal pending a la Tamba Hali. 5. I outbid everybody on the market to re-sign CB Brandon Carr to a multi-year deal. Ditto Wallace Gilberry, although the deal will be considerably smaller. 6. I re-sign FB Le'Ron McClain, TE Leonard Pope, ILB Brandon Siler, OLB Andy Studebaker, CB Travis Daniels, and S Jon McGraw to one-year deals. 7. I let go of the following players: RB Thomas Jones, WR Jerheme Urban, OT Barry Richardson, OG Ryan Lilja, C Casey Wiegmann, NT Kelly Gregg. 8. I trade Cassel off this offseason for a 4th rounder. I know I am Super Bowl bound, so I sign the shit out of the following free agents, aside from Manning: QB David Carr: 2 years, $5 million RB Jason Snelling: 4 years, $12 million WR Anthony Gonzalez: 1 year, $2 million TE David Nelson: 3 years, $12 million C Chris Myers: 5 years, $22 million, $5 million guaranteed OG John Greco: 1 year, $1 million S Brodney Pool: 1 year, $2 million With my available draft picks. 2. NT Dontari Poe, Memphis 2 (trade up w/ 3rd & 4th). OT Matt Reynolds, BYU 4. OLB Mychal Kendricks, California 5. FS Aaron Henry, Wisconsin 6. C T-Bob Hebert, LSU 7. OT Mike Remmers, Oregon State Which gives us a roster of: QB: Manning, Carr, Stanzi RB: Charles, Jennings, McCluster, Battle FB: McClain WR: Bowe, Breaston, Baldwin, Gonzalez, McCluster, Copper TE: Moeaki, Nelson, Pope LT: Albert, Reynolds LG: Hudson, Greco C: Myers, Hebert RG: Asamoah, Greco RT: Reynolds, Maneri, Remmers DE: Dorsey, Bailey NT: Poe, Gordon, Powe DE: Jackson, Gilberry, Gordon OLB: Hali, Sheffield ILB: Belcher, Siler ILB: Johnson, Williams OLB: Houston, Kendricks, Studebaker CB: Flowers, Carr, Arenas, Daniels, Brown S: Berry, Lewis, Poole, Henry, McGraw K: Succop P: Colquitt LS: Gafford KR: Arenas, McCluster PR: Arenas, McCluster Last edited by Direckshun; 12-26-2011 at 12:32 AM.. |

Really? You guys don't want Jason Snelling?
You guys are idiots. Snelling is a big, physical back who can carry the load. He has very little tread on his tires, and has great burst around the edges. We can't have another year of Charles carrying the load. It needs to be shared. |

Once you ruin a young QB by having him smashed into the ground over and over and over by 300 pound monsters, not much is left... Hence, before you spend a really high pick on a QB, make sure your OL is good... |

Ryan Leaf destroyed himself. Not the Chargers.

I dunno if you happen to remember Peyton and Troy getting pounded their first few years in the NFL. Not saying that your wrong, but sometimes they don't fail.

David Carr held the ball too long. His protection problems were self inflicted. A lot like Cassel.

There is some truth to that. The Texans originally got Tony Boselli from the Jags in the expansion draft. Boselli never played a down for Houston. He was supposed to protect Carr's blindside. Carr's protection sucked. Carr was a rookie who required a good supporting cast, and didn't get one... |

Also, I know Matt Reynolds is good, but are you sure he doesn't last until the 3rd? He will be 26yrs old by the start of the 2012 NFL season. Would make a great RT though...
