Why? TRich has proven he can do the job, IF he is left in there. Why waste a 1st round draft pick on something we do not need? We have other RBs who might get the job done if they are given a fair shot. Uh, go ahead and cut Bennett. But you guys get me when you rave about how well TRich did in a game, and how he should be kept in the game, and then turn around and say we need another RB. I don't think we do. We have to many as it is. Lets just go with the guy that has proven he will get the job done, and addrees other issues in the draft.

Richardson is a great FB. Leave him at FB. Get a "Lightning" complement to his "Thunder." Develop an inside/outside rushing attack with Richardson up the middle and Lightning [Cloud, Barber, so forth] around the corner.

Sounds good Gaz, hope the braintrust at 1 Arrowhead Drive hears you...we do have the RBs we need now but they are not used properly...I'm wondering if we spent 5 mil on some FA if we'd use him properly...Barber up the middle is not a pretty picture...

All this seems moot to me because of our running schemes. I saw several runs where the RB ran right into the back of the Olineman, and completely stopped waiting for something to happen. It looks to me like our guys are taught to just run into the predescribed hole and not look for any other opening.
The one sweep we did run worked, I don't understand why we can't run side to side more. Is it just me that feels our running problems are deeper then just the RB's on the roster? |

SCOUT QUICK HITS: 'Versatile back that combines explosive athleticism and tremendous size. Might be the most complete back to come into the league in the last ten years... Very quick feet. Is not afraid of contact but athletic enough to avoid it if necessary. Will lower the shoulder if necessary... Follows blocks, senses running lanes and cat-quick cutting it back. Has the vision to spot holes two gaps away and has the burst to hit those holes... Very instinctive runner, a north-south kid that can find daylight and HIT IT... Once he finds a seam, has third and fourth-gear that most backs do not possess. Also has great lower body strength to break a tackle at the line, then kick it into another gear without slowing down. Very rarely does first touch bring him down. Tremendous receiver out of the backfield, best in the RB draft... Only downside is injury questions. Tough but sometimes attempts to come back too soon from injury ANY OTHER QUESTIONS??? |

mylon, it's called no imagination...or resistance to change...I can't believe that the people that are paid to figure these things out, ie the coaches, don't see the same things we do...they should see more...they should fix it...if Gun sticks with Cloud and TRich all year using them as Gaz suggested...we're not crying about not going to the playoffs...this season is to be blamed on the confusion of our coaching staff...Gun needs some organizational skill training.

Agreed 58, but I am afraid I have lost all my patience with Gun.
During the game last night they kept doing closeups of him and the only expression I saw on his face was when they caught him picking his nose. If my defense was getting shredded by the quick pass to the flat every other play I'd be screaming into the headset to get the DB's up playing bump and run. Then I'd be screaming into the mike that I was coming up to the stooge box to throw Kurt's sorry a$$ out the window. Don't get me wrong, I like Gun and would love to see him succeed, but like I said, I am coming to the conclusion Gun is not the answer. How about we grab this guy? Could play running back and kick!
"High School, where he played quarterback, running back and linebacker, in addition to handling the club’s punt, kickoff and placement kicking duties ... Had 128 tackles and 13 INTs as a senior linebacker when he earned all-state honors ... Also completed 113 of 260 passes for 1,991 yards and 25 TDs during his prep career to go along with 119 rushes for 363 yards and 12 TDs ..." Oh wait...we already have him.

|

He was; 1. retrieving one of his smelling salt strips, or 2. finding a chad placed there by the canvassing board?
|

As was pointed out in a couple of the post, we would have a fine running game if we used what we have in the proper manner. So thier is no need to waste a pick in the draft for someone we don't need. And besides, why get some stud if we can't even manage what we have? Do you think that sheer talent alone will compensate for the incompitence on the sidelines and in the booth? I rather doubt it. Especially with this clan. It would take more talent than you could find in three players to overcome this bunch. Drafting a RB is not the solution.

We need a RB and NONE of our current ones will do. T-Rich is OK at HB, but he'll never be great. None of the guys on our roster have any vision, as they missed many attempts at huge cutback lanes last night. We need a back with speed, power, hands, moves, and vision. I don't want to settle for one or two of those qualities, and none of our backs have them all.

G_Man, how can you tell? They have not been given a fair shot. How would you do if you only carried the ball once or twice every two or three games?
