I've never had a typed altercation, nor have I ever been committed to a "team." For that matter, I'm not sure he even knows I exist. So, I'm not trying to "finish" anything or start any new trouble. However, I cannot, for the life of me, figure out WHY packfan posts here. Not that I mind, but it just doesn't make sense. I mean, I post on the Chiefs' board. Why? Well, I'm a diehard Chiefs' fan. Other Chiefs' fans occasionally will post on a Raiders', Broncos', or Seahawks' board. Why? They are AFC West rivals. So, I guess it would make sense if GB was in the AFC West. Heck, it might even make sense if GB was in the AFC! I don't know... So if anyone, including said packfan, can enlighten me, I would seriously be interested in reading the answer.

From what I gather, Packfan is a woman scorned. I've read that he used to be a Chiefs fan but he had his heart broken by Carl Peterson and the Chiefs. Now he has devoted his life to ridding the organization of Dr. Evil Carl Peterson. (Can't say I disagree with the plight, either.)

I'm at a loss to explain this too...I've asked the same question about other fans...such as Rams fans...there was another guy on here who was a fan of Tampa or somebody...and they use to cause all kinds of grief...
My only explanation for non-chiefs fans or non-AFC west fans is jealousy...they are jealous of our superior knowledge and dedication... Now, I've heard too that Packfan was a Chiefs fan and was "scorned"...well, join the ****ing club...how many times have I had my heart broken by the Chiefs?...I'm still a Chiefs fan... So, it comes back to envy...plain and simple...the Chiefs are the best as are their fans.... :) ------------------ joe "The word "genius" isn't applicable in football. From what I understand is that Packfan lives in Kansas City. Perhaps a transplanted Wisconsinite? I think he was kicked off the Packer board for being "All Knowledgeable"

If it is true that Ken used to be a Chiefs fan, and has now discarded his allegiance for whatever reason, then Packfan is nothing more than a fair-weather football fan. There is nothing worse IMO, even a Raider fan!! ;) At least jq, UD, OH, etc. are loyal to the fold. That commands a certain respect(and in Raider fan, a certain sympathy as well).

Ken still holds a grudge against all Chiefs fans for a physical altercation a friend of his got into during a Chiefs/Packers game at Arrowhead years ago. It seems he got a forearm to the back of the head from cheering too loudly after a Packers TD.
And, to make matters worse, his coworkers are Chiefs fans and have made his life at work a "living hell". (Ken's words) So, in summary, all Ken wants to do on this BB is to stir the $hit. It gives him something to do when he's bored, which is most of the time. The best thing to do is ignore him. But, to his credit, he is a persistent SOB.
|

Postal--
I have been to over 100 games in the last 19 years. If what you say about him at Arrowhead is true (and I have no reason to doubt you) it was his own fault. There are a few rowdys at games, but there is very rarely, if ever, a fight unless someone is being incredibly obnoxious. I worked there in high school, and saw a few fights. Each one was because the other team's fan was being a complete a$$hole. With the stuff Ken has posted on this board, I wouldn't doubt that he deserved what he got. To set the record straight, I was at the Chiefs/Packers game in 1993 with a guy that I work with. He jumped up after Jackie Harris burned Tracy Siemion for touchdown. A Chief fan (large mustache, feathered hair, coke bottle glasses, wrangler jeans) cold cocked him in the back of the neck. He just jumped up, wasnt obnoxious or anything. In fact, some of the Chiefs fans around us were shaking their heads at the hillbilly that cold cocked my buddy.
Postal, I never called it a "living hell". I dont know where that came from. Remember, the facts speak louder than words. And fact is, fans here dont support the Chiefs unless they are winning. Thats proven. I am surprised that not one on this board looked at the half filled arrowhead with any distain. Not one fan. Instead, you all try to justify it by saying there are "health hazzards" or you rip on me for bringing it up. If Lambeau field was half empty for a game, I would be disappointed in our fans.
|

The problem with blanket statements, Ken, is rarely are they even close to correct. I was very dissappointed in the attendance the last 3 home games, and have said so several occasions since. Some Chiefs fans are blind to the facts, as are some for any team, including your beloved, all-knowing Packer fans. Fact is, KC has just as many fair-weather fans as anybody else. None of us should really be surprised.
I get the impression these rumors that you were once a Chief fan are bogus. Yea or Nay? ct |

I think there are a LOT of fair weather Chiefs' fans. Packfan, it does make me sick. Even worse, it's not just Chiefs' fans; It's Royals' fans too. Maybe even more so. I love going to Royals' games not because I love baseball, but it is because I love the Royals. Also, the tickets are cheap and I can get great seats (although GA is my fav.) Usually the games draw around 20,000 or so on a good night, excluding opening day. So, where are the fans? They were there in '85. Where are they now? It's not like the Royals don't play hard or do awesome things. They do and I love it. So, where are the sellout crowds from '85? Did everyone die? Move? I doubt it... Kansas City, like everywhere else (Pittsburg, KS included) is polluted with well-off, there-when-they're-winning fair weather fans. It does sicken me. If the Chiefs went 3-13 for a couple of years, maybe even I could get good seats. I don't know, but if current trends hold, the uppety-ups will be out of there and the real fans can assume our places.

I don't know what to say about Bay Area Raider fans. I used to think that once we were winning, the bandwagoners would fill the stadium. Hey - now we're winning but still can't sell out. There's a solid base of 55,000 that show up to every game, win or lose. Its enough to rock the house, but not enough to get on TV. So now we lead the division. We can clinch the division and 2nd seed in the AFC with a win tomorrow. And we were 5,000 tickets short when the deadline passed. Even after the NFL got in the Christmas spirit and extended the deadline for a day. This sucks.

Pitt Gorilla:
I want to address your remark about the slumping attendance for the Royals. I have loved Baseball since i was old enough to remember. But the presently SAD state of MLB keeps me from attending any games. With the astronomically assinine salaries that are being paid to these guys, I find it hard to support both the player and the owner. And notice the rather flippant attitudes of these guys once they get the money? I could care less if the intitial offer was "a million dollars too low"!!!! I live in South Carolina and take my son to see the local minor league team and find as much joy as i do watching these overpaid prima dona wannabe's who call themselves "Superstars".... Until the league rids themselves of: 1)Steinbrenner and all the other idiot owners who spend money like it's monopoly dollars... 2)Don Fehr and all his union cronies who try to make these ballplayers out to be victims. C'mon give me a break!!!! Until MLB comes to it's senses or the small market teams revolt and threaten to bolt and start their own league this thing will spiral out of control. A salary cap won't work with Fehr in charge and owners willing to spend stupid money, so something catastrophic has to happen to bring everyone to it's senses. I'm begging for a MLB strike so these players will show their true stripes to everyone. mark *********** |

Ken,
As hard as it is for you to remember a post you made on the "other" BB two years ago, I won't argue with you. You probably were half-drunk when you made that one as you were with the posts you made on Denise's topic "If your wife/girlfriend came on to you during a Chiefs game". A little fuzzy on that one, huh? I'll refresh your memory. You made some revolting insults to your own wife. I lost my cool and actually got kicked off the kc.com board for threatening to expose your crap to your spouse. Dude, you're just another troll who gets off on the attention you receive from the mindless, boring rhetoric you spew here. Find something else constructive to do with your spare time. This will be the absolute last time I'll respond to your garbage. That is a promise. [This message has been edited by PostalChief (edited 12-23-2000).] |
