No. I learned my lesson the last time I farted in a crowded movie theater.

I wish....

I have a couple of friends of mine who made the trek from Denver. I thought about going, but I'd like to save my vacation time for other events- like Widespread Panic at Red Rocks!

Yea, I probably should have gone to the show at KC for at least I know I'll be able to see them perform.

It's getting to be a pain in the azz anymore 'cause their three night stand here at Red Rocks sold out in minutes. It pisses me off 'cause 95% of the tickets were sold to out-of-staters via mail order. WSP needs to reconsider it's mail order 'cause the locals can no longer get a freakin' ticket- and just about the only place they have a problem with this is Red Rocks 'cause everyone just HAS to go see their favorite jamband at Red Rocks. It' BS.

Back in the days when the Grateful Dead was tourning, you didn't have this problem for the shows wouldn't sell out until the day before the show when all of the traveling hippies would saunter into town. At least then you could still get a ticket. Nowadays, it's BS. Four years ago, I was able to do the three night stand at Red Rocks- NOW, I'll be lucky if I can score a ticket.

i have to tell you, as a jamband fan, that i've never seen the fascination w/ panic...

i did see them a couple years ago though at starlight on sunny's birthday and it was a hell of a show...they opened and closed w/ van morrison songs, send your mind and it stoned me, respectively.

they really don't improvise much outside of the basic framework of their songs...kinda boring if you're going to see some heavy jamming...also, i like houser much more than their current guitarist...

now umphrey's mcgee, there's a band that can jam...check em out at wakarusa june 16-19, www.wakarusa.com

it's gonna be huge!

WSP is the nearest thing for me to the Grateful Dead's aura. WSP does a wonderful job of improvising. Umphrey's McGee is OK....although I have yet to see them live and have only heard their music.

If you're going to Wakarusa, I may be going myself.

The bands to check out there are: Donna the Buffalo, Railroad Earth, Blueground Undergrass, and MOFRO- four damn good reasons why I may be going.
