Islamic counter-cartoons

So...I heard last night that some Islamic cartoonists are trying to make cartoons that will offend westerners now. Apparently, their first try was a cartoon of Adolf Hitler having sex with Anne Frank (true story).

My question to them - have you even seen the Internet? Have you gone to tubgirl? Have you seen goatse? You're bringing a pocketknife to a gunfight, people.

Plus, I question how creative an Islamic fundamentalist cartoonist can be, anyway. There's not a lot of out-of-the-box thinking in that part of the world, from what I can see.

I think my first counter-counter-cartoon would be Americans building a big McDonald's arch where those old statues were that the Taliban blew up. Or maybe a Venus de Milo.

It is poking fun at the messiah of their religion. How do you think the Christian community would react to cartoons depicting Jesus in an offensive manner?

You mean like the Virgin Mary smeared with elephant dung? Or the crusafix in a tupperware bowl full of piss? Well, they'd bitch but I'm guessing they wouldn't blow s**t up and threaten to murder an entire race of people.

Look it up, they both happened.

Speaking as a Christian I wouldn't react with violence.

I'm fairly sure those kind of offensive depictions of Jesus happen frequently. I've never seen this sort of widespread response of violence in response though.

People use his name in vain every day and yet I see no rioting or killing. Personaly I think they make a cartoon depicting any diety they want doing anything they wanted them to do and they wouldnt even get a raised eyebrow on this side of the world. I mean seeing how stupid they reacted sort of gives us the upperhand I'd say.

No, it is not "how do you think we WOULD react" as in, it never happens like this. But, present tense, How DO WE react to repeated disrespectfullness by society in general?

We go out, hi jack planes, and fly them into buildings.

there is no comparison.
