I don't know what to think about this..... Looks interesting though...

New Michelin Tires

"No air! And much less petroleum in their manufacture. Check these out...

Thought you might like to see the next generation of tires. They had a pair at the Philadelphia Car show. Attached are pictures of the new Michelin tires. These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon. The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires. Just think of the impact on existing technology... no more air valves.......no more air compressors at gas stations($.50 for just enough air to air up one tire... bastards!).....no more repair kits. "

Actually I heard that they are significantly louder than normal tires... which is the only real drawback....

And why ohh why would you want to waste a Bartee card?? That's gonna be worth tens of cents someday....

What happens when mud (or any other foreign matter like ice or snow) becomes caked on one side of the tire. I would think there might be a serious out of balance siotuation. I'm sure they've already considered that, though.

Balancing period would be my main concearn that and the price of them... How many miles you can get out of them.. Can you peel out if they are on a sports car??? What about off-road packages???

I saw the video some time ago and there were no side walls. Those tires are pretty cool, they look half flat when you drive. I bet the gas mileage would suck though.
