AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!! Some how the local FOX affiliate got the rights...

So I will likely be forced to watch the game tonight with the Giant's announcers instead of ours.

That REALLY sucks, especially for preseason games...

At least you get to watch the game, although it is nationally televised the Eagles have a game with the Ravens and it will be shown live at 8 in our local market. The Chiefs game comes on after the Eagles game and the news. So I now have to set my tivo for 1130 and listen to the game on Sirius. I hate the local affiliate.

Isn't that because the game is being played in NY?

Do KC announcers usually cover road games?

Absolutely. Twibel and Pearson did the Houston game.

Apparently the game tonight is nationally-televised.

It's nationally televised? Where was that noted?

That's actually GOOD. Won't have to listen to as much of a Giants slobberfest...

Who's the FOX team announcing then?

Aikman is not bad, but Buck- I would rather listen to a cat being ground up by a belt sander.

I don't think we have to worry about Aikman falling all over the Giants...

Sad to say I'm in the Same boat! =(

However I expected as much living just two hours drive from Giant..er..Jet Stadium!

My Father who Bleeds Giant Blue actually harassed me about tonights game.

I'm like Jesus Dad its a freakin preseason game the Chiefs are not only known for playing Vanilla offense but our D is trying out every guy on the bench just to see who can pull them out of despair this yr.
Our starting offense hardly Ever plays more than two series where other teams go four sometimes five..or even more.

Not to get you all riled but I just sipped my coffee to the NY sports channel here & you should hear the Giants players talk about tonights game.
They are really into it & talking it up.
The average comment from the players went as follows.
We hope to come out & Beat up on the Chiefs tonight they say their D has become better were going to prove that it doesnt matter.
We plan to light up the scoreboard a little more than the first game.

Etc & so forth.

As I watched the interviews I was like..ummmm something tells me the Chiefs players are not nearly this riled.

I've always felt thru the yrs in preseason no matter the Chief coach we Never truly try to see what our starters can do.
We always wait till either the last preseason game or the First game of the yr.

Yes I know we'd rather not see any injuries but for gods sake I want to see close to the first half getting our starters into a comfortable game time zone with each other!
The first two games against pretty good teams is NOT the time to get that done!

All plain Vanilla tonight while the Giants want to see what their capable of..same old same old.

It doesn't surprise me that the Giants players are saying that...they had a pretty poor showing against the Ravens and the coaching staff wasn't happy about it.

I live about an hour away from you and thought about going down to the game, but not for 100 bucks for a decent seat. Not for preseason.

I'm not sure if you were at the last Jets/Chiefs game there BUT I've been in HOSTILE sport situations before but NOTHING will EVER compare to what I went thru there.

Its a looong story I wont Bore you all with the details but as short as possible.

I wore my full Chief gear..got the normal remarks at tailgate as I would Expect.
Well..the first play of the game was a sweet long run by the Chiefs so I stood up & yelled hell yeah...well..about 30 people behind me said I'd strongly reccomend you not doing that again.
I had some beers in me laughed said something like Hey I'm cheering my team on dont give a shit sorry.
Then the food came flying the beers/drinks were being flung.
This poor father with his 12 yr old daughter in front of me received all the misses.
Hopefully everyone knows who Fireman Joe is there?
Well anyway he got the ENTIRE corner( possibly 2k people or more) i was in to chant..Take your Chief gear off while pointing at me.
More food/drinks..most hitting the young girl in front of me.
At this time I asked the dad ..for you & your child I'll remove my gear..the dad said this Crap happens here all the time..F them thx for the offer but keep your stuff on..so I did.
Then another guy who sits with fireman Joe they call the Freak or something started to move rows closer to me pumping his fist in the air to get the crowd further pumped at me.
He moved about 10 rows closer to me but still 3 away..as the crowd chanted for him to ..well get me or whatever.
I'm NOT a small guy & I was buzzed so I'l tell you right now I'dve swung for sure.
Then he moved back to fireman Joe.

At half time in line with my father for mo beers he said..you know you could just take your hat & coat off & we could enjoy the game a bit more.
I by then was like F that I might be to far from Arrowhead to go there but here I'm making a stand here I prove I do bleed Chief Red!
I went back to my seat a little more buzzed.
People literaly Screaming in my face CHIEFS SUCK CHIEFS SUCK!
Besides fireman Joe there was a guy 2 rows behind me who NEVER layed off me EVER.
At this point I could care less about the actual game & began fireing back..

Hey isnt this Giant Stadium?
Is this the NY Giant Farm team?
Hey check out the cool green Jet banner they use to cover up all the Giants blue.
The guy screamed out so when the F did you guys last win a superbowl??
I said with a huge smile a YR AFTER your JETS won you DUMB ASS... his friends laughed hard at him.

I also then told him its apparent the JETs will make the playoffs this yr..I then snapped a pic of this Jerk off..he said WTF did you take a pic of me for?

I said during the JETs playoff game in a few weeks I'm going to set your picture on top of My TV..when you guys lose I'm going to remember your Ugly..now SAD puss.

I said can you remember that on game day that I'll be doing that?
He siad sure as Hell I will..BUT we win & my face will still be mocking you!

Needless to say I left my seat fourth qaurter down by to much to win..snuck as close to the chief bench as possible for some nice pics.
Getting screamed at while i was doing that.

Saw Tony G score a last minute TD.
& left that was my wonderful NY adventure.

AGAIN I've BEEN in hostile situations before but NOTHING can compare to that..my Father & uncle still tell the tale as do I.

As far as the JETs playoff game that Yr they lost & I know in my heart the guy knew I was somewhere laughing.

YES that Was the short version so many little episodes I left out..change,batteries..stuff I would've thought was left for Oakland only.
I did Not expect this from JETs fans the yr of 9/11.

Side note After the game I we went down to the still smoking towers..the feeling of being there BEFORE clean up as it was still smoldering..before the borders were put up was...well unexplainable.

Wow. That's pretty classless. Next time the Chiefs are in NY or NE (reg. season) we should hook up and go.... strength in numbers...

I've been to Foxborough Stadium and Pats fans are pretty cool.....
