On opening day I wonder how many people will cheer for Rich Gannon?
I hope our fans don't insult our new QB and coaching staff along with our other players by doing so. We should boo him and the Raiders for the scum they are. Yea Green boo Gannon.

I won't be cheering ... nor will I be booing.
Personally, I think the best thing is to be stark silent. Imagine the mind game the crowd could play if, when the opposing team takes the field, nearly 80,000 people don't even acknowledge the opposing teams existence. The sound of all of that silence would be more imposing than booing, IMO. MM ~~Doesn't make a peep when the other team takes the field.

MM - Can we still be as loud as we want when their on Offense and on the line or in the huddle?
Silence when announcing the guys could be amusing, especially the ones loooking to be boo'd. |

Definitely! I'm just saying that everyone should be quiet when the opposing team is announced. Booing just pumps the other team up ... silence would have them wondering. There is some high school (can't remember where, but somewhere in KC) that has a great trick: During home basketball games, when the other team is announced, the home supporters pull out a newspaper and start to read. Not a peep except the rustling of paper. It's classic! I can just see the folks at Arrowhead doing something similar. Just picture the Raiders in the tunnel ... they are all pumped and ready to be the "bad boys," ready to be booed relentlessly. Then the announcer comes on: "And now introducing the Oakland Raiders." They come running out on the field, hooping and hollering ... and all they can hear is a lone cricket somewhere. Everyone is just standing there, doing nothing but staring around with their arms crossed, not even paying attention. I'm telling you guys, it'd be great. MM ~~Knows that silence can sometimes be golden.

Sounds like a plan. I'll be quiet when they take the field and yell like a madman when they're playin on offense. That'll save energy for when we kick their axes.

I think that would be great, but there's no way you could get 80K people to do it...

That is how Allen Fieldhouse greets opposing teams. Then when the mighty Jayhawks take the court the newspapers are shredded and tossed like confetti!! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!

I did not know KU did that. When I was in high school one of the KS teams (I want to say a Shawnee Mission school) did that to us. Now I know where they got it!
And, unfortunately, keg is right ... it'd never happen. Too many drunken fools. (sigh) Oh well. MM ~~Will see his dream die a quick death on Sept. 9th when the Faiders take the field.

Didn't the Royals also do something similar when the Yanks were in town a couple years ago, just stand up, turn around and not even look at them as they walk on the field. To pull it off you would have to get it in the press, just like the Royals did.
Of course I have also like the idea of laughing when the other team marches on the field. |

Rod - I was just trying to use it as proof that something like this could be pulled off, it would need to have a catchy name to it to get the press time it would need to be pulled off.
