Why were so many OLinemen Selected?
For the past several months I have heard nothing but how stupid people were for thinking there might not be as many quality OLinemen available late in the draft as some were making it seem. Well, today there were 10 selected in the first 2 rounds, 8 in the first.
I know Mecca said that the Chiefsplanet mock wasn't realistic because people were choosing OLinemen "because homers on the board think that because the Chiefs need Oline help, they are completely overvaluing the position." Has that view changed at all yet? |

Teams did the same thing people in the mock did, they came up saying "hey we can fill OT this year" so when a couple teams took them everyone else felt they had to take one too..
A few teams got horrid value doing that. |

I would bet if we looked back at this in 2 years, quite a few of those teams will be regretting it.....

But they've had a few horrid drafts as of late, IMO. |

The only guy that went unexpectedly was Duane Brown.
Collins and Nicks are both still there. As are several guards (Eric Young would be my choice in the 4th). So no, I don't think anyone's surprised. |

Baker went early...
Nicks would be gone if he didn't have character flaws. |

I agree. Maybe leave McIntosch at LT this year, and plug Albert in at guard, with the intentions of moving him to LT next year, and grab Nicks and plug him in at RT. A line of Nicks, Albert, Niswanger/Zuttah, Waters, and McIntosch doesn't look too bad to me. |

I wish we'd have left Solari at O-Line coach, and still had him here to coach this guy.

Solari never developed an O-Lineman.

I think Gosder was a bit of a reach today, too.

If Nicks were to really fall.....to say the 4th the Chiefs might be able to actually net 3 starting OL.....
