I just had to put down my 10 week old puppy, Gotham, because of parvo. This shit is killing me right now. Last edited by The Franchise; 07-09-2008 at 09:35 AM.. |

I had a sheppard get it around the same age. It cost me around $600 and that was several years ago. I took him in on a friday after hours so it cost more. He was on IVs for 4 days and pulled through. The vet made me pay up front as he said the dog has a 1 in 4 chance and he has been burned before. Good luck I hope your dog pulls through.

Parvo is very, very serious, Mr. pestilenceaf23. We bought a lab puppy once that came with Parvo. I was extremely angry about it. The breeder knew her dogs were sick and was selling them anyhow. The puppy died and, although I got my money back from the breeder, I never forgave them and likely never will.

Cost to me is no big deal right now...I just want the little guy to pull through. If he dies though....I'm taking it out of the shelters ass myself. |

How bad off was you pup when you took him to the vet? Blood in stool or bloody runs? Or did you catch the pup just being lethargic? The Parvo virus runs for 7-10 days. The main goal of your vet is to make sure your pup doesn't dehydrate. I would think the sooner you had your pup at the vet the sooner he could make it back home. I never had a dog with parvo but have had friends and family members dogs get it. Hope your pup is able to fight it off. It is not a pretty illness.
