Ummm, I dunno, 6 feet? Don't you have to set up the civil war gun? So the revovler would get him first, right?

Dave is old and Detoxing is young, if that has anything to do with drawing weapons.

At the start Detoxing dives at an angle towards Dave Lane, slides across the ice and and zaps him with the revolver.

I just looked up what a gatling gun is, and if that's right, then maybe Dave does pull this off. That thing is longer than six feet so it would literally be pressed up against Toxing's face when they say go. So he has to shoot around that thing at Dave before he pulls the trigger.

As soon as they say go.....all Detoxing has to do is dive on the ice. Dave is going to have a hell of a time trying to aim the ****ing thing. He can pretty much only shoot straight forward.

Recall that they are handed their weapons at Time T=0. My theory is that detoxing will be able to aim and fire faster than Dave Lane given the distance and size of the weapons. If the starting distance was across the rink I think it goes the other way, but at 6 feet I go with the pistol.

Hand them their weapons as in drop a gatling gun into Dave's arms, or it will be set up on it's base and he can actually reach for it at T=0?

It's ready to fire and the bullets are fed in, and it's handed to him on its base. His job is to either hold it and fire if possible, or to set it down and fire. Hence my theory that detoxing will aim and fire faster.
