Matt Cassel - QB - Chiefs

Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel threw his support behind Matt Cassel at his introductory press conference Monday.
Crennel was also noncommittal on Kyle Orton's return, acknowledging Orton's free agent status and saying he "appreciated" Orton's late-season performance in 2011. "Matt Cassel has won here," said Crennel. "We've been to a playoff with Matt Cassel. I don't think Matt Cassel has fallen off the wagon overnight. I think he's a good talent, he's a good quarterback, and he's taken us to a playoff. I anticipate that he can do it again."

I'm more concerned with whether or not a QB will be taken in Round 1.
If so, I can live with Cassel for one more year.

What did you expect him to say in his introductory press conference? That Cassel sucks, and he is going to pursue another starter? He said what he had to say and hopefully he talks Pioli into pursuing another QB option.

This.

Would of been nice too if they let Stanzi play the last freaking game of the season too. Then maybe I would have some confidence in Romeo or Pioli to move forward and hope for a draft pick QBotf in this draft too.

I would like to like Romeo, he seems like a great guy. Just don't think he is going make us a great team with Super Bowl aspirations on the horizon. In three or so years he may just retire from failed playoff attempts and ridicule of piss poor QB under the helm and Pioli will be on the hot seet at the same time so this is just moot hire until we get to move on from Pioli or he actually drafts us a damn QB that has what it takes to be elite.

Some how just have to passify the time.
