Pacific Rim was Legendary/Warner wasn't it? Movie had problems, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. Would be fun to throw the Jaegers into this universe.

Legendary is a production company, not a studio.

This proposal is more akin to Paramount and Sony's production of Titanic, in which they shared production and marketing budget, with the publishing going to Paramount (which eventually went to Sony in a 2007 sale).

So it's really Universal (Kong) and Warner Bros. (Godzilla), with Legendary trying to broker a deal to merge IP from both and be the bag man?

According to the article it sounds like they are trying to create a universe for doing multiple pictures. Pacific Rim was Warner Bros. so I'm holding out hope for a Jaeger vs. Mechagodzilla!

It'd be tough to scale Kong up to size and have him on some secluded island. I mean, that island would have to be the size of Australia and I'm not buying that.

Then again, he is a primate with some intelligence. He could be a decent bit smaller and still put up a fight.. Although Godzilla also has opposable thumbs and appeared to have some form of higher intelligence as well..
