Getting Photos off iPhone?
So, in the old days, you used to be able to plug the phone into the USB on the computer and it would pop up like a flash drive on the PC.
I currently have Windows 10 and iPhone 7. When I plug in the phone to the USB cord I get a popup on the phone asking to trust the device. After pushing trust it doesn't pop up as external storage in file explorer. Is this a new thing or am I ****ing something up? I need to get the pictures off. It's being kind of an asshole and before it catches on fire, I need to get the shit off. EDIT: I did google it. I ****ing hate iTunes and don't want to use it if I can avoid it. I also tried to import them from the Photos app on W10 and it says there isn't a device to connect to. |

If you open “My Computer” there isn’t a drive showing up?
May have to email them to yourself. That might take forever though. |

You need the Apple Mobile Device USB driver in order to get file access. That's included in the iTunes install. You used to be able to download just the device driver without iTunes, but they don't really do that anymore.
Here's a link that says it has a download for it, but I'm not sure how legit it is: http://www.driverscape.com/download/...ice-usb-driver Safest bet, just install iTunes

Yeah, Apple is pretty bad about never removing their software. Much better these days, but some of their old installers were complete shit. Because they insisted on using just about every different type of Windows service option available. .dlls, registry startup items, startup folder items, etc.

Open the Windows Photos app (search if you can't find it) and there should be an import button on the top right. Then tell it to search for a usb device. Make sure your iphone isn't on the lock screen. You might have to download iTunes first as mentioned above. |
