You've got to realize that it's a much much happier way of life to be the "nice" guy instead of the "tough" guy.

You've got to be able to completely cut off the bad people in your life and not feel bad about it. Surround yourself with positive people, and find ways to motivate yourself to do the right thing everyday.

Know that the party will always be there, so will the "party people". I like to have fun, but it's alot more fun when you are happy, and I can't be happy unless my bills are paid, and I have nice things. It's going to take hard work to get there.

Take pleasure in the work, have pride in yourself, and take pride in the little things, like mowing the yard, keeping a clean house, doing a friend a favor, cooking a nice dinner, getting exercise, etc.

Bottom line is figure out who you are and don't compromise for anyone. Everyone has had a "rough" life in one way or another, don't let that beat you down.

Anybody can reinvent themselves if they want to bad enough.

I'm not the best at articulating my thoughts on here, but I'm rooting for you man. I used to be the underdog too, and that's what makes me work harder now because success is addictive and it is the best revenge on anyone who ever doubted you. Now this is much better.

Given the choice of passing judgenment and thumping your chest and put someone down, or saying something that actually might be productive to someone who is struggling...you chose to be productive.

This is exactly what I was talking about. We are given choices of how to handle ourselves. Our choices and how we percieve opportunities are what define us. Those using this thread as an opportunity to step on a person that is already down in a effort to boast thier own already weak self respect, are making the wrong choice. It's not only counter productive for the person under attack, the person doing it is regressing.

I think sometimes instead of offering a hand to help someone up we have tendencies to step on folks when they are down in an attempt to help ourselves rise. It's a false sense of self reinforcement.

You have made the right choice and should be praised for it. The same goes for anyone else who offered a hand instead of a boot heel in this thread.

You didn't have to share that but you chose to in order to encourage Joey. Well done, Chenz. The kid is 19. Even if he does time there's plenty of time to turn his life around.

I like the way this thread has turned.

Heh. You're right but your first foray into the thread kinda did the same thing. This response is perfect. It became apparent pretty quickly that Joey is sorry and knows what is right an wrong. I'm encouraged that he has the wherewithall to take advantage of this wakeup call.

Kinda, but not the same. My 1st forray did exactly what I expected. It took the spotlight off the attacked and put it on the bully(s). Sometimes the bully needs his ass whipped too.

I simply provided the vehicle for them to punch themselves out.

At the same time, Joey deserves whatever he gets as well. Remember the "I don't steal from people, only businesses and carlots" statement? He needed some tough love for that and he got it. Like I said though, there's some hope for this kid IF he gets out of that situation now.

I'm Frazod's pavlov. I ding a bell, and he spins in circles until I give him a biscuit. My favorite sport is watching the surveylance footage of him in an elevator alone, when it dings at a floor stop and no one is there with a jerky treat.

edit for sand insertion:
I also grew tired of seeing the number of posters he's called "twat" "c unt" "pussy" and "bitch" to go along with the "you should be scared if we ever meet" crap.

The tone of hamas and chenza may have been different, but the message was the same.

Joey is responsible for what he has done, who he spends time with and the decisions he makes. Joey is the one who can change that. Like the others, I suggested he get help, get educated, find more responsible ways to earn money and live. Joey is the one who can turn Joey's life in a positive direction.

Joey himself in this very thread said he needed some tough love.

He's obviously had a tough hand, hasn't played it well but knows he needs to change it. I hope he does just that.

Ah, more reerunese from the Sage of Hooterville. Nice to know he's "surveyling" me in the elevator. I'm in trouble now.....

So if I respond to a post that mentions me by name, I'm one of Pavlov's dogs? Really? Wow. Good thing I'm the only one here that does that, otherwise an internet bulletin board might break out, and then where would we be?

I think now I see why you edit your posts so much. You look at them and think "Damn, that's really ****ing stupid, so stupid that even I can see its stupid. I need to change that before somebody sees it." So by all means, keep up the good work.

As for me, I'm off to find more innocent victims to pick on, shrinking violets who are easy prey, who cannot defend themselves, like Tom and Shitsprayer. Thank God these poor souls have you here to champion them.
